The Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) was created in December 2006 to prosecute offences under federal law.

We have offices across Canada with our headquarters located in Ottawa.

Role

We provide prosecutorial advice to law enforcement agencies and prosecute matters that are within the jurisdiction of the Attorney General of Canada on behalf of the Crown.

We are responsible for prosecuting offences under more than 50 federal statutes, including drug offences, organized crime offences, war crimes and crimes against humanity, terrorism offences, proceeds of crime offences, economic crime and offences to protect the environment, natural resources and social health.

The PPSC also prosecutes all Criminal Code offences in the territories.
